School

My major, Arts and Entertainment Technologies, at UT Austin is an interdisciplinary field of study that offers coursework in production, projection mapping, themed entertainment, video game creation, and animation. I love learning how to use a variety of mediums and creative tools to create compelling stories and experiences. To enhance my understanding of the influence of the built environment and the entertainment industry, I am minoring in Architectural Studies and Business.

Additionally, I love getting involved around campus. I have served as the Project Director, Secretary, and I’m the current External Vice President for Texas Theme Park Engineering and Design, an organization focused on getting involved in the Themed Entertainment industry. My role is to invite guest speakers from the industry and organize group travel to the IAAPA expo.

Work

This past summer, I completed an internship at LF Studios/Life Formations, a scenic design and animatronics company that does work for major theme park clients in the industry. My role in Project Management allowed me to understand vendor-client relationships, collaborate with different departments in the production shop, and learn how many large scale projects are managed effectively.

Additionally, my student job as a Facility Assistant for UT RecSports has taught me valuable customer service skills, and I also served as a Teaching Assistant for the class Foundations of Creative Coding last semester, introducing students to programming for a creative output in the language Processing, and I prioritized making coding be approachable and giving students constructive feedback and encouragement.
