School

My major, Arts and Entertainment Technologies, is an interdisciplinary field of study that offers coursework in lighting design, projection mapping, themed entertainment, video game creation, and animation. I love learning how to use a variety of mediums and creative tools to create compelling stories and experiences.

I also believe that creating compelling physical guest experiences requires a thorough understanding of the history and influence of the built environment, as well as an understanding of how the corporate world and entertainment industry work; therefore, I am minoring in Architectural Studies and Business as well.

Work

To complement my coursework, I love getting involved around campus. I have served as the Creative Co-Manager, Secretary, and I’m the current Project Director for Texas Theme Park Engineering and Design. I’m also a part of a spirit organization on campus and I play violin for the UT Engineering Chamber Orchestra.

My student job as Facility Assistant for UT RecSports has taught me valuable customer service skills, how to create a welcoming and safe environment for students to exercise in, and how important the small scale aspects are that go into running a large student services company.

Additionally, I’m involved in my school, the School of Design and Creative Technologies, as a Teaching Assistant for the class Foundations of Creative Coding. I work to introduce students to programming for a creative output in the language Processing, and I prioritize making coding be approachable and giving students constructive feedback and encouragement.
